One of the oldest human occupations is animal husbandry. This craft played an important role in the daily life of nomadic peoples. Therefore, the exhibition begins with a display of livestock farming among the Kazakhs who inhabited the middle reaches of the Syr Darya River.
The exhibition features tools necessary for keeping and managing livestock — horse harnesses, a baby carrier (bota kebezhe), woven enclosures (örme shiderler), feeding troughs (kögen), and shackles (kisen), as well as methods for processing wool for household use: felt making, rope twisting, and the art of weaving carpets and alasha.
